About Drue

I’m trans non-binary

My pronouns are THEY/THEM

Visual storytelling has felt a part of my purpose since childhood.

I was that kid in the family who basically forced my parents, sibling, cousins, anyone willing really, to be in all the films I had created on a whim.

I was the friend that sent everyone a link to little films I made of our camping and adventure trips.

I just adore documenting everything around me.

Looking back on my own films from childhood and young adulthood, I’ve developed an even deeper appreciation for how these films really do transport you back into a moment. I know how much meaning and sentiment they can hold as the years go on.

I’m neurodivergent and open about it. I truly believe having an AuDHD brain shapes how I experience the world differently and influences the way I film.

I feel and notice DEEPLY

I intentionally prioritise engaging in whimsy at all costs

Feet in nature, camping, collecting rocks, swimming in waterfalls, crafting, all things fantasy.

Anything that brings your inner child and nervous system back to life!

Outside of filmmaking

I am studying within the mental health industry.

As someone who is a late diagnosed AuDHD person, I have this strong pull to support other humans also living with disabilities and neurodivergence. Focussing on creating safe spaces to exist, developing/improving supportive systems and advocating for disability rights, saftey and overall wellbeing.

Enough about me though.
